Every single word that you say
Every little thing that you do
Hits like a hurricane
When I’m secretly crazy for you
I still recall being crazy for you and not being sure what to do. Now I get to come home to you forever, and in case you did not know I am wildly crazy for you.
I love you when you’re singing that song and
I got a lump in my throat ’cause
You’re gonna sing the words wrong
Even during challenging or tough times, my love for you is like the riptide. It flows up inside me and fills me up with abundant joy and happiness, because I get to be your man and see your beauty shine everyday.
When I listen to the jazz station while working and hear this song, I am reminded of Grandma & Grandpa Mulligan. This song would play from the little radio in their house while my sister and I played with toys in the family room or while we ate a meal together at their little kitchen table. Then I recall all the laughter and joy the Mulligans shared with us and feel so blessed that I have someone like my Deb and our kids to share this wonderful life.
And then the water reached the West Coast
And took the power lines
And it was me and you (this could last forever)
And the whole town under water
There was nothing we could do
It was dark blue
No matter what the circumstances or how far apart we are, I always think of you my best friend and beautiful wife.
